Pope John Paul II 1920-2005

The leader and father of the Catholic Church, Pope John Paul II passed away last night, April 2, 2005 at exactly 2137H Italy time. The whole world is in grief as we show our respect and dedication to a person that changed the way people look at Catholics. Born on May 18, 1920, Karol J. Wojtyla experienced different kind of aguish during his life, death of his love ones and the persecution of his jewish friends, but amidst all this pain and suffering, Karol dedicated his whole life to God and entered the seminary and finally was ordained on November 1, 1946. Karol successfully performed his holy life and later became a bishop, and soon become a pope. He was elected as pope last October 16, 1978 and chose the name John Paul II to honor his predecessor John Paul I who died 31 days after his papacy. Pope John Paul II travelled the world to spread the love of God not just to Catholics but also to every religion on earth. He will always be remembered as the travelling pope and his motto "Totus Tuus" which means entirely yours. Truly, Karol gave his everything to God, and that will always be remembered by the billions of people whom the pope touched their hearts

May Pope John Paul II rest in peace

"Our beloved Holy Father John Paul II has returned to his home. Let us pray for him"
