Peter Moore, the XBox head honcho over at Microsoft, spoke out on Sony Playstation 3 pricing saying:
"Tell me why you would buy a $600 PS3? People are going to buy two (machines.) They're going to buy an Xbox and they're going to buy a Wii ... for the price of one PS3."
He went on to praise Nintendo with the following comment:
"People will always gravitate toward a competitively priced product -- like what I believe Wii will be -- with innovative new designs and great intellectual property like Mario, Zelda and Metroid."
The last thing Sony needs is Nintendo and Microsoft "teaming up" on them in a console battle - but the fact is Moore may be right on this one. $600 is far too expensive when compared to the $400 price tag of the XBox 360 and the probable sub $300 price for the Nintendo Wii. Only time will tell if Sony can deliver a product so superior that the average gamer will be compelled to spend the extra $200.
