Nintendo has confirmed that they are currently developing software that will take advantage of the interoperability between the DS and the Wii.
In an interview with MCV, DS product manager James Honeywell noted that - “you will definitely see Wii and DS interoperability as soon as we have it finished,” said Honeywell. “We haven’t made any announcements over specific software for connectivity, but there are definitely a number of exciting things in creation which we want to bring to market as soon as possible. We’re hopeful that will be next year.”
It is important to note that in this case, interoperability is about a new gameplay experience as opposed to the simple exchange of media. And that, my friends, is going to be very cool.
