Is Christmas just for kids?

Christmas is the most celebrated holiday around the world. When I was young, the start of December means the start of the month long celebration of Christmas. But as I grew older, the holiday spirit faded along with my childhood.

This Christmas, I didn't attended the nine mornings mass (simbang gabi) which I usually complete every year. I didn't put a Christmas countdown on my website like any other year. Heck I didn't posted on Christmas Day. I dunno, maybe the fun of Christmas for me faded away and as I grow old, Christmas is just another ordinary holiday.

I am now a proud owner of a Neo laptop

Wishes do come true this Christmas

Mom gave a surprise today, I accompanied her at SM to buy some stuff and I was wondering what were we doing at SM Cyberzone. She asked me "San ba yung gusto mong laptop?" First I thought she just wanted to see it, but she told me "Sige kuha ka na". I was shocked really until now. I've been dreaming of having a laptop since ages ago (see my previous pics)., We had a P5,000 discount from the P40,999 original price, we also had a laptop bag and a free gift from Neo. I will never forget this day!

Omaha mall shooting

Robert Hawkins, a 19-year-old boy who on December 5, 2007 killed 8 people on an Omaha Nebraska mall and committed suicide.

According to AP,Robert Hawkins entered a mall, an AK47 in hand, killed 8 people and shot himself afterwards after spending four years in a series of treatment centers, group homes and foster care after threatening to kill his stepmother in 2002. He had recently broken up with a girlfriend and lost his job at a McDonald's. He left a suicide note at his suburban house with the following message:

"I know everyone will remember me as some sort of monster, but please understand that I just don't want to be a burden on the ones that I care for my entire life," he wrote. "I just want to take a few pieces (sic) of (expletive) with me."

Surveillance video and still images of the attack show Hawkins initially walking into the mall unarmed, wearing glasses, a black zippered sweat shirt over a black T-shirt with a white logo. He returned to the store six minutes later, according to timestamps on the footage.

Video of the department store's south entrance shows Hawkins entering the festooned store and immediately walking to the elevator to his right. His right hand was tight against his midsection to hide what police said was an AK-47 assault rifle.

Meanwhile, funerals for some of Hawkins' victims were announced. A wake for John McDonald, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was scheduled for Sunday, with a funeral the following day in his hometown. A vigil for Janet Jorgensen, a 14-year Von Maur employee, was scheduled for Sunday evening in Omaha, with a funeral Mass on Monday.

Jorgensen's family members gathered to pray for the victims and their families — including Hawkins' family.

"They're not vindictive people," family friend Paul Huntimer said Friday to a gathering of reporters at the Jorgensens' Omaha home. "It was important to Ron that prayers go out to the suspect's family."

The mall was scheduled to reopen on Saturday.

World Psoriasis Day

On Oct. 29, 2007, join the National Psoriasis Foundation in celebrating the fourth-annual World Psoriasis Day, a global effort to raise public awareness about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and the seriousness of these diseases.

Psoriasis affects approximately 125 million people—and is often dismissed as a cosmetic skin condition. In reality, psoriasis is a serious, genetic disease of the immune system that researchers have linked to other serious conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, liver disease and obesity. Psoriasis is not contagious, but for those who have it, the disease can be both a physical and emotional burden.

In the United States, where as many as 7.5 million people have psoriasis, the Psoriasis Foundation is recruiting volunteers for our Psoriasis Action Network. This program is a united community to educate Congress about psoriasis and the need for increased research funding through proposed legislation.

World Psoriasis Day is sponsored by Merck Serono and Wyeth. Learn more at www.worldpsoriasisday2007.com

The Rise and Fall of Sandara Park

Sandara Park, the comedic Korean born actress of ABS-CBN 2, was born on November 12, 1984 in Busan, South Korea. Her unusual three-syllable Korean name, as she has said numerous times in interviews, comes from that of a Korean general, Kim Yushin whose childhood name was Sandara.

When Sandy (which fans dearly call her) was 8 years old, her father went to the Philippines and started a small business at Pasay City. When her father accumulated enough money, he relocated his family here in the Philippines who by that time were living with Sandy's grandparents. Initially, no one in their family were fluent in English or Tagalog, thus Sandy had a difficult time adjusting in school and gaining some friends. Sandara eventually enrolled in voice lessons at the Center for Pop Music in the early 2000s.

During one of her school functions, Sandara met Pauleen Luna who was then a talent of ABS-CBN Channel 2. Luna encouraged the shy Sandara to audition for Star Circle Quest, a then-upcoming talent search for ABS-CBN. Park tried her luck and was in the same batch with fellow questors, Hero Angeles and Joseph Bitangcol.

The show's judges called her in and was able to elude elimination several times, paving way for inclusion into the contestant pool's top ten. Being a native Korean, she displayed some trouble with the daily exercises set by the panel of Filipino judges. Though she had some comedic ability, she remained monotonous, dull or lacking in timing. But what she lacked in talent, she made up in charisma. A proof of this was that during the whole run of the show she consistently garnered the Texter's Choice Award, an award given weekly for the contestant who got the most text votes from the viewers. During the last elimination round where the final five contestants were chosen, Sandara made Philippine history by garnering approximately 500,000 text votes, making her the first female to garner that much SMS support. And so she was in until the final night where she was announced runner-up to Hero Angeles. It is estimated that she got at least 2,000,000 accumulated SMS votes from supporters during the entire run of the contest. Also during the run of the contest she was paired with Hero Angeles but their relationship became increasingly estranged.

ABS-CBN showered Park with projects after her Star Circle Quest days. She had six local commercial endorsements for personal care and stationary products. She also received several television show offers. She starred as Sandara Soh in a Star Circle Quest spin-off SCQ Reload, OK Ako (SCQ Reload, I'm OK), and hosted Sandara's Romance, a show featuring Korean dramas and commentary, and had a hosting stint on ASAP Fanatic, a Sunday noontime teen variety show. She also appeared in a local daily primetime superhero soap opera, Krystala, as Kim, who shares similar personalities with her real-life self, but her tight schedule limited her appearances.

In addition, Sandara also embarked on a musical career that eventually led to the release of her self-titled 6-track album which spawned the novelty dance hits "In Or Out", a song that parodied her experiences on Star Circle Quest, and "Walang Sabit", the jingle for Rejoice Shampoo. In proof of Sandara's rapidly rising star status, the album was certified double platinum after 6 months, selling 60,000 copies.

Sandara also appeared in two movies within separate years. First was a storyline in the three-storied movie Bcuz of U where she co-starred with other prominent young local actors. Second was her own movie with her loveteam partner, Hero Angeles, Can This Be Love, which grossed P90, 090, 000.

After a tumultuous partnership with Hero Angeles, Sandara Park opted to pursue college and workshop lessons in Seoul, South Korea. There were rumors and statements in the Korean press that Sandara had tried to become a singer/actress in South Korea, but due to some series of setbacks, it somehow never materialized.

Soon, local media, playing along the controversy, voiced their unhealthy indifference with Angeles and his brother-turned-manager, Henry. This even lead to the Angeles brothers suing writer, columnist, and showbiz aficionado, Cristy Fermin. Nonetheless, Sandara left for Korea still, leaving her troubles unfixed and for the public to decide.

During her stay in Korea, her rumored boyfriend, Joseph Bitangcol, openly admitted their relationship on national TV via the showbiz talk show, The Buzz, shocking Hero-Sandara fans.

Six months after she first announced her plans of studying in Korea, Sandara came back to the Philippines to continue her career. ABS-CBN had already released Angeles, and with no one currently paired with her, Joseph Bitangcol took the spot Angeles left.

When Sandara came back in December 2005, she found that her schedule was less tight than before. She had very little TV guestings and only had one regular Sunday show. Crowd reception also seemed cold for her comeback. This is partly because of the success and attention the Pinoy Big Brother Season One housemates were having.

In early March 2006, Sandara voiced out on national television her feelings for the cold reception she has received on her comeback, as well as her envy towards the Pinoy Big Brother housemates, commenting on them as colorful, while she is black and white.

But the real surprise was when she revealed that her father abandoned them and that he has another family which he resides with. Tears flowing, Sandara revealed that her father is a wife-beater and has taken all her savings, leaving them hard-put once again.

About a week after Sandara did the aforementioned interview, Star Cinema studios revealed its intent on casting Sandara and her boyfriend Joseph in D'Lucky Ones, coupled with her latest single, Ang Ganda Ko, the movie's official theme song. The movie opened in theaters on April 16, 2006 and grossed only P71, 180, 000.

On July 14, 2007,Joseph Bitangcol confirmed that he and Sandy had dissolved their relationship 2 weeks ago. No third party is involved for the only reason was frequent quarrels between the two.

Sandara Park's career turned cold as new faces were introduced on the local television namely, Kim Chiu and Beatrice Saw, both were Pinoy Big Brother's big winners.

August 1, 2007, Sandara has reportedly left the Philippines for good, returning home to South Korea with her mother and siblings to begin a new life. Recently, YG Entertainment claimed that they now signed a contract with a Sandara Park and YG have the confidence to let her be the next BoA. Will this be a new career opportunity for Sandara Park? Will she be in or will she be out?

Upgrade / downgrade your PSP to 3.40OE-A custom firmware

Having trouble with devhook lately? Can't play that latest game because your emulated firmware is just 3.11? Fret not, here is a step by step guide in achieving that psp ecstasy.

First things first. Why do we need to upgrade / downgrade your psp to 3.40E-A (Open Edition revision A)? Well here is why:

-Runs iso and cso without using devhook or any other umd emulator
-Build in P.O.P.S. (Playstation One Portable System) plays PSX (playstation 1) images instantly
-Updated software with camera and RSS support
-Compatible with the latest games 3.11 and above
-Runs homebrew applications even if your firmware is not 1.5

Get your PSP and flash it now!

Before we begin, make sure you understand the risks involve

PLEASE NOTE I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF THIS CAUSES YOUR PSP TO BRICK

You must have a PSP that is capable of reading homebrew applications (i.e. 1.5 firmware). If you haven't downgraded it to 1.5 here's a guide

Next, download the AIO 3.40OE installer which can be found here

Run the installer on your computer and it will automatically save the required files on your memory stick (I suggest formatting it first), assuming your psp is connected to your computer via usb.

go to the Game section on your psp and then access your memory card. You will now see a new program Upgrade to 3.40OE-A. Before running it, make sure your psp has a 75% and above battery life, if not, charge it first. Flashing while connected to an outlet is not recommended.

If you already prayed and accepted the fact that whatever happens I still love Siopao Master. Run the program and watch it flash your psp to 3.40OE. The whole ordeal will run in approx. 3 minutes. After the installation, restart your psp manually and enjoy the benefits of 3.4OE

Happy Gaming!

Nothing Left To Say But Goodbye

"Friendship is not how long you've been together. It isn't how much you've given or recieved; nor how many times you've helped each other, but it's how you value one another."

I sense that my relationship with my best friend is slowly fading. Our distance is slowly increasing and the conversations whispering away.

I do hope the quote at the beginning of this entry holds true. For my relationship with her is passing through. I can feel now our differences. She never texted me ever again. She no longer sees that I'm ok or what I'm doing right now. Maybe, just maybe she got tired of what had happened between us. Once again, I'm to blame, for I cared too much for her, for I cherished her so much, without realizing the consequences it will bring. I don't want to ruin her life anymore, I don't want to be the reason why she and her beloved fight. Leaving her distance myself are the only option at my disposal, and I must act now or be the beacon of grief in her life which can never be changed forever. Goodbye my beloved best friend. Thank you for the love and the understanding you have given me. May our friendship hold true till the very end. I will be your best friend always and forever.

Why Nice Men are such a LOSER

Why Nice Men are such a LOSER!

Originally from Tze

You hear it all the time: "He was such a NICE Guy, and she's such a Heartless Bitch for dumping him."

I get letters from self-professed Nice Guys, complaining that women must WANT to be treated like shit, because THEY, the "Nice Guy" have failed repeatedly in relationships. This is akin to the false logic that "Whales are mammals. Whales live in the sea. Therefore, all mammals live in the sea."

If you have one bad relationship after another, the only common denominator is YOU. Think about it.

What's wrong with Nice Guys? The biggest problem is that most Nice Guys (tm) are hideously insecure. They are so anxious to be liked and loved that they do things for other people to gain acceptance and attention, rather than for the simply pleasure of giving. You never know if a Nice Guy really likes you for who you are, or if he has glommed onto you out of desperation because you actually paid some kind of attention to him.

Nice Guys exude insecurity -- a big red target for the predators of the world. There are women out there who are "users" -- just looking for a sucker to take advantage of. Users home-in on "Nice Guys", stroke their egos, take them for a ride, add a notch to their belts, and move on. It's no wonder so many Nice Guys complain about women being horrible, when the so often the kind of woman that gets attracted to them is the lowest form of life...

Self-confident, caring, decent-hearted women find "Nice Guys" to be too clingy, self-abasing, and insecure.

Nice Guys go overboard. They bring roses to a "lets get together for coffee" date. They try to buy her affections with presents and fancy things. They think they know about romance, but their timing is all wrong, and they either come-on too strong, too hard and too fast, OR, they are so shy and unassertive, that they hang around pretending to be "friends", in the hope that somehow, someway, they will get the courage up to ask her out for a "date".

They are so desperate to please that they put aside their own needs, and place the object of their desire on a pedestal. Instead of appreciating her, they worship her. We are only human, and pedestals are narrow, confining places to be -- not to mention the fact that we tend to fall off of them.

They cling to her, and want to be "one" with her for fear that if she is out of sight, she may disappear or become attracted to someone else. A Nice Guy often has trouble with emotional intimacy, because he believes that if she learns about the REAL person inside, she will no longer love him.

Nice Guys are always asking HER to make the decisions. They think it's being equitable, but it puts an unfair burden of responsibility on her, and gives him the opportunity to blame her if the decision was an unwise one.

Nice Guys rarely speak up when something bothers them, and rarely state clearly what it is they want, need and expect. They fear that any kind of conflict might spell the end of the relationship. Instead of comprimising and negotiating, they repeatedly "give in". When she doesn't appreciate their sacrifice, they will complain that, "Everything I did, I did for her.", as if this somehow elevates them to the status of martyrs. A woman doesn't want a martyr. She wants an equal, caring, adult partner.

Nice Guys think that they will never meet anyone as special as she is. They use their adoration as a foundation for claiming that "no one will ever love her as much as I do." Instead of being a profound statement of their devotion, this is a subtle, but nasty insult. It is akin to saying to her: "You are a difficult person, and only *I* can ever truly love you, so be thankful I'm here."

The nice guy -needs- to believe that he is the best person for the object of his desires, because otherwise his insecurities will overrun him with jealousies and fear. The truth of the matter is that there are many people out there who can be a good match for her. We rarely stop loving people we truly care about. Even if we no longer continue the relationship, the feelings will continue... But love isn't mutually exclusive. We can (and do) love many people in our lives, and romantic love is really no different. Though he may love her immensely, there will likely be other people who have loved her just as much in her past, and will love her just as much in the future. The irony of it all is: "Who would want to go out with someone who was inherintly unlovable anyways?"

More than loving the woman in his life, a Nice Guy NEEDS her. "She is my Life, my only source of happiness..." YECH! What kind of a burden is that to place on her? That SHE has to be responsible for YOUR happiness? Get a grip!

Another mistake Nice Guys make is to go after "hard luck" cases. They deliberately pick women with neuroses, problems, and personality disorders, because Nice Guys are "helpers". A Nice Guy thinks that by "helping" this woman, it will make him a better, more lovable person. He thinks it will give him a sense of accomplishment, and that she will appreciate and love him more, for all his efforts and sacrifice. He is usually disappointed by the results.

This ultimately boils down to the fact that Nice Guys don't like themselves. Is it any wonder women don't like them? In order to truly love someone else, you must first love yourself. Too often Nice Guys mistake obsession for "love".

Get this Guys: INSECURITY ISN'T SEXY. IT'S A TURNOFF.

You don't have to be an ego-inflated, arrogant jerk. You just have to LIKE yourself. You have to know what you want out of life, and go after it. Only then will you be attractive to the kind of woman with whom a long-term relationship is possible.

My personal note:
"Have you ever noticed that the more special you treat someone, the more that someone takes you for granted?

It's like they think you won't ever change"

Harry Potter Book 7 spoilers

We're moments away from the official book launch of the latest and last Harry Potter novel. The box containing (see my gallery) stated that it will not be open until July 21, 2007. Well some folks violated that agreement with Scholastic and ruined the magic by spreading spoilers over the internet. so which spoilers are true? I've read some spoilers and what you'll about to see are the real ones

DO NOT READ THE FOLLOWING LINES - SPOILER ALERT!

(HIGHLIGHT THE FOLLOWING TEXTS AT YOUR OWN RISK)

Ron dies.
Lupin dies.
Percy dies
Voldemort dies.
Snape dies.
Details aren?t needed. Just say BELLATRIX KILLS RON!

As many people guessed, all was not what it seemed with Dumbledore, and the two did indeed have a plan that would eventually result in Snape killing him. But, Snape was only in on things for personal gain, and when Voldemort learns of this, he is obviously furious with Snape. Snape tries to make up for things by luring Harry to him, but Harry manages to escape, and Voldemort kills Snape before the final conflict.

Ron is killed by Bellatrix Lestrange in The Battle of Hogwarts, but Neville manages to finish off Bellatrix after Ron weakens her before his death.

Harry Potter is not a horcrux.

Voldemort kills Snape.

Voldemort is killed in the Department Of Mysteries. He baits Harry Potter about his parents, Sirius, Dumbledore and Ron. which turns out to be the worst thing Voldemort could have done. As Voldemort steps out into the circular bit with many doors, Harry Potter opens the locked door, and Voldemort is destroyed by the blinding light, which heals Harry Potter, who seems close to death (he does not die).

The cover art shows Voldemort + Harry Potter at the Deathly Hallows, Harry Potter is attempting to summon Voldemort?s Horcrux, as Voldemort is doing his best to keep the enchantment in place.

SPOILERS END HERE

Wanted to clear things up, AN EPIC NOVEL DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE HERO ALWAYS DIE IN THE END like what some all-knowing-person told me

The New 7 Wonders of the World

Last July 7, 2007 (07/07/07) The New 7 Wonders of the World was announced during the Official Declaration ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal. Here are the results:

The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China was built to link existing fortifications into a united defense system and better keep invading Mongol tribes out of China. It is the largest man-made monument ever to have been built and it is disputed that it is the only one visible from space. Many thousands of people must have given their lives to build this colossal construction.

The Petra of Jordan

On the edge of the Arabian Desert, Petra was the glittering capital of the Nabataean empire of King Aretas IV (9 B.C. to 40 A.D.). Masters of water technology, the Nabataeans provided their city with great tunnel constructions and water chambers. A theater, modelled on Greek-Roman prototypes, had space for an audience of 4,000. Today, the Palace Tombs of Petra, with the 42-meter-high Hellenistic temple facade on the El-Deir Monastery, are impressive examples of Middle Eastern culture.

The Christ Redeemer of Brazil

This statue of Jesus stands some 38 meters tall, atop the Corcovado mountain overlooking Rio de Janeiro. Designed by Brazilian Heitor da Silva Costa and created by French sculptor Paul Landowski, it is one of the world’s best-known monuments. The statue took five years to construct and was inaugurated on October 12, 1931. It has become a symbol of the city and of the warmth of the Brazilian people, who receive visitors with open arms.

The Machu Picchu of Peru

In the 15th century, the Incan Emperor Pachacútec built a city in the clouds on the mountain known as Machu Picchu ("old mountain"). This extraordinary settlement lies halfway up the Andes Plateau, deep in the Amazon jungle and above the Urubamba River. It was probably abandoned by the Incas because of a smallpox outbreak and, after the Spanish defeated the Incan Empire, the city remained 'lost' for over three centuries. The Pyramid at Chichén Itzá of Mexico

Chichén Itzá, the most famous Mayan temple city, served as the political and economic center of the Mayan civilization. Its various structures - the pyramid of Kukulkan, the Temple of Chac Mool, the Hall of the Thousand Pillars, and the Playing Field of the Prisoners – can still be seen today and are demonstrative of an extraordinary commitment to architectural space and composition. The pyramid itself was the last, and arguably the greatest, of all Mayan temples.

The Roman Colosseum of Italy

This great amphitheater in the centre of Rome was built to give favors to successful legionnaires and to celebrate the glory of the Roman Empire. Its design concept still stands to this very day, and virtually every modern sports stadium some 2,000 years later still bears the irresistible imprint of the Colosseum's original design. Today, through films and history books, we are even more aware of the cruel fights and games that took place in this arena, all for the joy of the spectators.

The Taj Mahal of India

This immense mausoleum was built on the orders of Shah Jahan, the fifth Muslim Mogul emperor, to honor the memory of his beloved late wife. Built out of white marble and standing in formally laid-out walled gardens, the Taj Mahal is regarded as the most perfect jewel of Muslim art in India. The emperor was consequently jailed and, it is said, could then only see the Taj Mahal out of his small cell window.

I love you but I've chosen darkness

There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads. Afraid, confused, without a road map. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. Of course, when faced with the unknown, most of us prefer to turn around and go back. But once in a while, people push on to something better. Something found just beyond the pain of going it alone, and just beyond the bravery and courage it takes to let someone in, or to give someone a second chance. Something beyond the quiet persistence of a dream. Because it's only when you're tested that you truly discover who you are. And it's only when you're tested that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist, somewhere on the other side of hard work and faith and belief. And beyond heartache and fear of what lies ahead.

I am standing in the middle of the road, there are two paths ahaed of me, the one is to let go of the woman you love and find someone else, the other one is to hold on.

I am still in love with her, no matter what I say, my heart doesn't fee lthe same way. No matter how I forget, the memories keep hunting me. But the thing is, I like someone else, but I still love that one girl, my sassy girl. If only there is closure between the two of us, maybe just maybe my heart will be set free.

What a way to start July

I woke up this morning feeling that a huge elephant is sitting on my head.

It is the first day of the month and there's an excrutiating pain on my head, add some running nose and some dry cough. My morning's perfect. I tried to get up but to no avail. The pain is searing on my head like Harry Potter sensing Voldemort. I was planning to watch my beloved friends the AMA Dance Troop compete on the dance showdown hosted by Fitness First but my health is more important. I lay on my bed the whole day sleeping..sleeping..and sleeping. mom baught me a Champ from Jollibee and I ate it heartily when I woke up and now I'm sitting here in front of my desktop thinking..Damn I need a laptop hehehe

Every beginning has an ending

This week was the saddest week of my life, although it concluded the question on my mind of what could be the outcome, will the good prevail or will the evil triumph?

Last Monday, Proposal Daisakusen aired its final episode. As I watched the final episode, I really really felt the pain and frustration of the protagonist Iwase Ken as his futile attempt to win back his love ended in vain. It's true that a good story can change your life or it may just touch it. Proposal Daisakusen just did that, it made me realize what I have done wrong to the woman I love and I'm facing the consequences of my actions. I failed, miserably and there's no way I can correct it again. How I wish a fairy will appear to me now so that I can change the past, but too bad, there's nothing I can do know, she wouldn't want me even as a friend. Life sucks, live with it.

BTW, Death Note also aired its last episode last night. It really showed good always prevail. I do hope it will happen too in real life, the evil (back stabbers and "plastic" people) will perish and peace will be restored in my life.

Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 fraud

An employee of ABS-CBN confessed that the currently happening situation in PBB season 2 is all but crap.

This is how the fraud currently happening in Pinoy Big Brother Season two.

"I have worked for ABS-CBN for almost four years now, since i finished my M.A on Mass Comm - Broadcast Communication in 2003. As part of production on News and Current Affairs, my work has been mostly rewarding, with good benefits despite the low base pay (I’m including this part so you would understand why I accepted the offer to be transferred to conceptualization of some reality shows particularly the current one, PBB.) Because of the sensitivity of my status (I am still working there) I cannot divulge my name, gender and current position in ABS-CBN. Still, I would like to inform those who are interested (who, most probably, are now wondering why Wendy Valdez is still inside the house and not evicted yet, as most must have assumed.)

When I was asked if I wanted to be part of the conceptualization of the current and upcoming reality shows that ABS-CBN would be showing (with higher compensation, obviously), I accepted the offer. How bad can it get, I said, since most of these shows run on public voting and my job would mostly include thinking of the “challenges” that Kuya instructs the housemates to do.

Apparently, conceptualization incorporates more than that. As I have known after the pre-screening of the auditioners, as early as the application process, we have to note who we think will “attract the public most” and who we think will “make the ratings go off the roof.” After the initial screening, we had to choose the top 100 of the batch, and even though some did not “theoretically pass” the audition (some weren’t able to complete the documents needed), since they have mass appeal, they made it to the first cut, and some were even included in the finalists that entered the BB house.

As you all know, the eviction process is supposed to be based on the votes that the “nominated housemates” - the housemate with the lowest vote will be evicted. I dont know about the previous editions of the PBB (since I only worked under this series this season), but what surprised us the most was when we were informed that the voting only affects the decision minimally - that the voting actually shows who the public wants to see again the following day - but that was it. the truth is, there are so-called “talent auditors.” These people are the ones who really put the big decision as to who will be evicted, and who will stay. Of course, this never became obvious since I cannot deny the fact that we receive millions of votes during eviction night. That is, until Wendy was evicted, and then later returned to join the housemates who are legitimately still in the contest. And the reason is this: the Wendy-Bruce loveteam is working. Have you ever noticed why most of the episodes are focused on the Wendy-Bruce loveteam? It is because ratings are really high, meaning that people want to see how their relationship develops.

I have never received this much question about my work before. My friends want to know how someone who was already evicted be suddenly returned to the house. Actually, that is one of the “twists” that are really planned to be included in the show. But there are actually three evicted housemates that were vying to be returned to the house, and Wendy was one of them. We were asked who we think should be the one to return to the house, and Zeke won. But after discussing that the Wendy-Bruce love team was too interesting to abruptly end, it was Wendy who got the spot. Aside from that, we were later informed by one of the production managers who was disappointed with the decision, Wendy was “Direk Dyogi’s pet.”

I told this story to some of my friends, and they were surprised to know the truth, particularly because some of them were voting for their favorite contestant. I told them only one thing - that they are just wasting their money in voting. As I have personally seen, the path of the contest is already drawn, and the voting only affects the decision minimally, as I have said. This only tells us who the public wants to see again inside the house. The eviction of Nel tonight is the classic example. Nel got the second lowest number of votes, Wendy got the lowest. But the administrators think that perhaps the Wendy-Bruce loveteam is still up, so we had to give it one last shot. If the ratings go down, or if on Tuesday (the next eviction night), Wendy still gets the lowest vote, she’s out of the contest.

I did not want to reveal all of these, partly because of my loyalty to the company that has given me so much over the years, but I personally think that it is unfair to make one suffer for another’s gain. Since I have done background checks on the housemates, I know for a fact that Nel isn’t very well-off, and should have been given his chance fairly. I feel bad to know that I am included in a ploy to confuse and even fool people into believing that they control the outcome of the show. That is why I went ahead and did this post. I wanted people to know how PBB works.

If you really want to let the network know how disappointed you are with the outcome, make the ratings go down at least until Tuesday. And do not waste your money in voting, or if you really want to and have the means to do so, vote for who you really think should be included in the big 4 - this way, hopefully, Wendy will be out on Tuesday for good."

-- ABS-CBN Employee / PBB Conceptualizer

That explains why that mothafucking Wendy Valdez is still inside the PBB house. Well I'm not watching this crap anyway, but my family seems to like it and I can't stand to let this slip through. So please, don't vote for that Wendy Valdez bitch, for the sake of humanity.

School Hopping

I never thought that today will be a long busy day

My original plan is to go to Quezon City Polytechnic University (QCPU) to apply for a teaching position. So I went there early, eager to show them greeeaat teacher siopao hehehe. Too bad they did not appreciate my prepared power point presentation due to the fact that they didn't have a usb slot to plug my flash drive in. After the teaching demo and the grueling interview, i headed straight to AMA Computer University to visit my best friend, it turns out, she's the OIC Dean for the day, sweet! when lunch arrived, I had the chance to eat with her and we talked about everything we missed for the past month. I was glad to hear she missed me and I do miss her too, she's my dearest best friend after all (contradicting to the rumors out there). I accompanied her to the dean's office after eating and helped in some of the work, for the other "loyal to magaling" didn't even dare to help her. After sometime, Ihan texted me that I'll try to give my resume to Informatics and I bid farewell to my best friend and headed to Informatics and gave my resume and was interviewed by the program head. They will call me next week about the results. Overall it was a great day.

I Love You Goodbye...

"No love can hurt as much as the love that can never be. And, no thoughts can hurt as much as the thoughts of a love that could have been."

I cannot believe it ended this way. I didn't imagine we will separate our paths on this manner. I think this is the best for the both of us. Not lovers, not even friends.

I stood there in front of her house, trying to comprehend what just happened. All I wanted is to give to her late birthday gift and tell her how I really feel. But instead, she told me the truth. The one thing she wanted to tell me these past few weeks, She wanted me to forget her and move on. For she already forgotten me and removed me from her life. I practically did not exist anymore in her life. I wanted to cry but I can't. I can't describe the pain I felt when she said those words. As I walked away, tears keep falling down and the pain penetrated deep down my soul. Thats it. It's all over, I can't even tell her how I feel. I guess it's too late for that. I lost my love and I lost my friend all at once and there's nothing more I can do..

With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept

Does this darkness have a name? This cruelty? This hatred? How did it find us? Did it steal into our lives or did we seek it out and embrace it? What happened to us? That we now send our children into the world like we send young men to war, hoping for their safe return, but knowing that some will be lost along the way. When did we lose our way? Consumed by the shadows, swallowed all by the darkness. Does this darkness have a name? Is it your name?

I wasn't prepared of what happened yesterday, maybe, it's too sudden, too fast for me to comprehend.

They have won. The people who hated me won again, this time, they didn't just took my future but my best friend as well. I lost also the person I treated as a mom and also I lost my one true love all in one package. What have I done to deserve this? Why are these things happening? Now all that is left for me are memories, and it only makes the pain stronger..

The Three Princesses and the Squire

Once upon a time there were three princesses ruling the AMA kingdom. They were Althea, Bellatrix and Ixchel.A squire named Valerius secretly adored these three beautiful ladies and one day decided to tell them how he feel.

The story revolved around Valerius falling in love with Althea, despite their differences, Valerius and Althea became close, during the swimming in Cavite, Valerius realized that he was in love with Althea. Too bad for Valerius, Althea didn't feel the same way, series of fights and misunderstandings followed and on December 22, 2006, Valerius finally called it quits and accepted the fact that He and Althea were only just friends. Valerius calls Althea "My Sassy Girl" based on the Korean movie. Every time the song "Don't Cha" by the Pussy Cat Dolls and "Crazy For You" by Sponge Cola were being played, Valerius remembers the good times the both of them spent together.

During the dark times of Valerius, there was a kind princess by the name Bellatrix who comforted him and told him the positive side of things. Valerius and Bellatrix became the best of friends, Valerius officially call Bellatrix "Best Friend" and sometimes Bellatrix calls Valerius "Best Friend" as well, but destiny was cruel to Valerius as the boyfriend of Bellatrix suspected that Valerius' is in love with Bellatrix. Valerius coined the term "Bessy" to hide the word "Best Friend" for Bellatrix' boyfriend is the one and only "best friend" in her life. If it isn't enough, Valerius was deleted form Bellatrix' Friendster friends list and currently is banned from texting, emailing, calling, instant messaging and even talking to his "Best Friend". The squire cannot do anything for the knight is the rightful one for the princess. Thus all the squire had left was the memories of having a wonderful friendship which is now impossible to achieve. Every time the song "Tell me where it hurts" by MYMP and "I Turn to You" by Christina Aguilera were played, All the squire can do is remember the past for he cannot do anything in the present.

Last but not the least, Ixchel, the princess that gave the squire false hope. Deception was the main reason the squire erased the princess in his memory, for the princess secretly has a knight during the time she gave the squire hope. The squire cannot endure the treachery abd decided to forget the princess.

Three different women, One man, all three became a part of his life, but destiny took everything away and left him just the memories. He cannot do anything for he's just a squire. If only the squire became a knight, just maybe, one of the three will become his own princess and they will live happily ever after.

QC Police have to pay tollgate fees therefore was delayed to catch the hostage takers

Four people were killed during a bus chase at Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA). Quezon City police were delayed due to employees of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) asking them to pay up the toll fee.

At least four persons were killed after five robbers briefly took hostage several passengers of a bus and engaged police in a shootout in Quezon City Thursday.

Passengers of the JMK bus (Body No. 23, TWH-291) said the five robbers boarded the vehicle near Guadalupe in Makati City and announced the holdup after a few minutes.

"Mga apat o lima sila, may granada. Umakyat sila sa overpass sa flyover sa may Guadalupe tapos sinabi nila holdup. Dito na lang nagkaroon ng habulan (There were four or five of them. They had a grenade. They boarded the bus at the flyover near Guadalupe in Makati City then declared a holdup. Then there was a police chase)," passenger Celia Mamaril told dzBB radio.

Two of the fatalities were found dead in the bus. The other two were reportedly killed after commandeering a Mitsubishi Adventure AUV (CSX-806) in Valenzuela City.

However, witnesses at least one of the robbers still managed to elude arrest.

Northern Police District (NPD) head Chief Supt. Pedro Tango said they had "taken into custody" four persons, but said one of them claimed to be one of the hostaged passengers.

In a separate interview on dzBB, Tango said that if the claim of the "hostage" were true, they will have to track down the remaining fifth suspect.

Mamaril said the bus, which plies the Malanday-Makati route, came from Makati City and was heading north along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).

Quezon City police who responded to the incident fired at the bus' tires to immobilize it. The bus sustained several bullet holes.

At least two men believed to be a driver and a passenger were found dead inside the bus. The driver was initially identified as Daroboy Santos of Angat, Bulacan.

"Maraming insidente nakapagmaneho pero ito ang pinakagrabe, namatay siya (He had experienced being victimized by robbers but this was the worst – he was killed)," said Santos' brother-in-law Federico Santos.

The third and fourth fatalities were shot while driving a commandeered Mitsubishi Adventure (CSX-806) near the Lawang Bato exit in Valenzuela City.

At least two other suspects were reported captured as of 11 a.m.

It remained unclear how many passengers were held hostage in the bus.

Traffic in the area was snarled as several police vehicles, followed by media news crews, sped to the site against the flow of traffic.

On the other hand, the police pursuit was hampered as toll gate employees at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) blocked some of the police vehicles and asked them to pay up.

Traffic at NLEX was also slowed after police and media vehicles were parked at the NLEX's outer lanes.

What makes me proud to be a Filipino

This post is a response to Buwayahman's article

Blogging they say, is the new medium for free speech. You can post your rants, raves, your daily experiences and anything that comes out of your mind. Many Filipino venture the Blogosphere to find information or to just be entertained. So why not use this raw opportunity to send a useful message across? Let's start by telling our fellow Filipinos why they should be proud to be one.

As far as I remember, Filipinos are all over the world, Jasmine Trias, a half Filipina, participated in American Idol. Batista, a half Filipino, is a wrestler in WWE. Vanessa Minnilo, a half Filipina, recently hosted the Miss Universe 2007 beauty pageant. Ana Theresa Licaros won Ms. Photogenic in the same pageant as well. Who can forget Manny Pacquiao bringin home the bacon oh so many times? Heracleo "Leo" Oracion , Erwin "Pastor" Emata and Romeo Garduce were the first Filipinos that reached the summit of Mt. Everest while Noelle Wenceslao, Karina Dayondon and Janet Belarmino were the first Filipinas to reach the summit also. Remember Lea Salonga on Miss Saigon? The list goes on and on. The Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who work all over the world just make their families have a better living here in the Philippines, they are the modern heroes and they carry the Filipino name with them. Heck my father is an OFW and I'm proud of him.

Finally, the main reason that I'm proud to be a Filipino is our culture. Our hospitality towards our visitor, the use of "Po" and "Opo" to show respect. The care for the elderly, heck some countries abandon you if you're too old, because they think you are useless already. Who would not be proud of the Filipino family? Bonding every weekend, saying grace before meal, eating together, going to church together. I tell you guys, if you plan to go abroad, you'll miss these Filipino traits and will think that I'm proud to be a Filipino. Now, I'm not being patriotic here but putting the negative issues aside, Filipinos are the kindest and hard working people in the world.
