Otonashi meets a girl named Yuri who invites him to join the SSS—Shinda Sekai Sensen (死んだ世界戦線?, lit. Afterlife War Front)—an organization she leads which fights against God. The student council at the school, led by the student council president and angel Tenshi, is in charge of keeping the status quo and serve to fight against the SSS.

Training, studying and even becoming the first female student council president of the school, Misaki has gained a reputation among the male students body as an uptight boy-hating dictator and as a shining hope for the teachers and fellow female students. However, despite her tough-as-nails appearance, she secretly works part-time at a maid cafe in order to support her family. Unfortunately, her hard-earned reputation is threatened when the popular and somewhat impassive Usui Takumi takes an interest in her after discovering her in a maid uniform after school.

Ring ni Kakero

The story centers around the life of a young boxer named Ryuuji Takane and his sister Kiku, who is his coach. Ryuuji and his sister both inherited their father's talent for boxing with Ryuuji inheriting his strength and techniques while Kiku picked up his talent for analysis and strategy. In the past, their father was a famous boxer. Ryuuji and Kiku went away from home to train and become famous in order to help their lonely mother. On the way to stardom, they have to defeat the strongest challengers all over the world.

Moreover, ever since he can remember he had a strange ability where when he touches others, he can feel their emotion. Unable to control it, he often made insensitive blunders in the past. He later meets with a mysterious yet beautiful man who saves his life, but somehow he feels so nostalgic, like he's met him before. While death threats and his ability increasing, a man who claimed to be his older brother suddenly appears, so what will Yuki do when he learns the truth?

Holy Week?

It's Holy Week once again. But wherever I go people talk about vacations and parties. I understand if they are from other religions but they are Catholic like me. Is the spiritual meaning of the Holy Week forgotten? Is Holy Week now an excuse to go to resorts? Can we not give just one day (Good Friday) to repent? Can we not express our gratitude to Jesus? Can we not realize the ultimate sacrifice He had done to save us? We are not here to mourn His death and suffering but to celebrate His triumph over death. Jesus sacrificed everything for you,can you sacrifice something for Him?

Presidential candidate's sis hacks rival's website

How does an English Literature major hack someone else's website? Try asking 'Kris Aquino'.

According to reports from Yahoo! Philippines, a person using the female celebrity's name recently hacked the website of Sen. Manny Villar, who happens to be the opponent of Aquino's brother, Sen. Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino Jr., in the upcoming Presidential elections.

The hacker went as far as leaving a blog entry in Villar's website and then redirecting it to Noynoy's.

If you've been following Kris for some time, though she can afford the latest trends in technology and possesses the knowledge to utilize the features, she's not likely capable of pulling off something as complex as hacking.

Though you have to admit the blog post was kind of funny and could raise suspicion among Villar supporters.

We know Kris all too well because she's such an open book. Often, she would talk about her problems in public, whether it's breaking up with a comedian/former politician for a boyfriend, or having an MVP for a husband cheat on you, twice. And she ain't one to deny that she's filthy rich. She'll flaunt the most expensive stuff, and drink only an expensive brand of bottled water just so we know. She also speaks Taglish (A combination of Tagalog, a Filipino dialect, and English) with so much conviction, a reminder that she is among elites. Lastly, once she starts opening her mouth, expect her to sound overdramatic.

Try putting all the aforementioned into consideration and you just might think that Kris did write the subject post. Then again, even for someone like Kris, it's just too overdramatic. Then again, being the tactless woman that she is, it's not impossible for her to say stuff like that. Then again, she probably won't do something blatantly because it might ruin Noynoy's chances. Then again, maybe that's how she wants us to think, when in reality she is actually behind this and…this could go on forever (because even after the elections, the debate continues with some politicians whining and complaining about being cheated).

So what do you guys think?

Whatever the case may be, as we countdown the days to the May 2010 elections, things will only get nastier and the trend of dirty politics in the country continues… -Marlone Viardo

Second week in 3rd BU

It was not long ago that I finally entered the 3rd Business Unit territory and my training is now at it's dawn. The part of me that was still holding on to the 1st BU was put to the test today as the admin announced the winner of the recent sportsfest. 1st BU was on 2nd place, a feat we never expected, as we jokingly told each other that we always won third in almost every event during the sportsfest, so we expected 3rd place. I couldn't explain the delight I had felt as I heard the news, the only thing is, I'm now on 3rd BU..I can no longer share the triumph with the 1st BU peeps, especially those on WEBCC. The JLPT passers were also announced. I suddenly remembered that I was planning to congratulate my project mates personally the moment they received their certificates, but that never happened today...and will never will.Anyway, unexpectedly, the newcomers, like me, were introduced in front of the whole business unit. It's like first day all over again. The uncertainties disappeared as I felt that I was welcome there. I'll try my best with my new family the way I did with 1st BU...

Time to Show some Love

I was preparing my things and was about to leave home for work when I caught a glimpse of today's episode of ABS-CBN's Showtime.

I'm not actually a hardcore fan of the show. Though I watch it regularly, I don't watch the entire program which starts at around 10:30 a.m. and wraps up at around 12:00 p.m. And the reason behind it is I'm switching channels between ABS-CBN, BTV and Jack.

Now, don't expect me to berate on the five judges who are usually just repeating what the first person says, or about the lack of the originality of the concept of the program (though I must admit that ABS-CBN is doing a better job right now compared to TV5's Talentadong Pinoy), or about the absence of actual talent (in my opinion, you can rehearse a dance routine for zillion times until you achieve perfection) on the show, or how naïve these youngsters are in forming groups composed of so many members (it's pretty difficult to see fluidity or clarity in the contestants' choreography because their number, and they have to admit that they also take in non-dancers in their respective groups, all for the sake of a few seconds of fame). No, we won't talk about any of those.

What I want to talk about is the Buko (coconut) King, and I'm talking about the real deal, the original Buko King. And if you're wondering what he's gotta to do with all of this then read on.

Like I said, I saw today's episode of Showtime. For all the viewers out there, I hope you recalled this group that had its members in Tarzan-motif costumes, and one of them was a guy stripping coconuts of their shells using his teeth. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that guy is Joselito Montemayor, THE Joselito Montemayor.

Back in the 90s, this guy earned semi-celebrity status by doing this kind of thing on Eat Bulaga where he was first baptized as the Buko King. The moniker was so effective nobody cared what his real name was, and whenever Joey de Leon and Vic Sotto would call out the Buko King, the image of Montemayor, his long hair and bandana, comes to mind.

If that's the case, how come neither the judges nor the hosts of Showtime even recognized him? Not even Kuya Kim who's supposed to be the brainy one. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Montemayor had TV guestings in some shows abroad and even held a Guiness World Record (though I've searched the Internet high and low and didn't find anything on such record). And if memory serves me right, before Pacman, Buko King was the next best thing to Lea Salonga, Banig, Paeng Nepomuceno and Efren 'Bata' Reyes in the international sensation category. You got to be someone great if you got your name mentioned with those four people in the same breath.

You might think that I'm exaggerating this guy's reputation but he made a name for himself during a decade when the Eraserheads were in our heads, the Internet was not yet a household term and websites like YouTube were non-existent. That has got to amount to something at least.

And if Showtime's staff and crew are going to tell me that he's old news, GMA's Magpakailanman and Unang Hirit just featured him in a not so distant past. So getting some info as to who Montemayor was shouldn't take a rocket scientist.

I don't know if the program's researchers overlooked this matter or just didn't bring it up since he got his accolades from the other side of the fence. Call me nostalgic but I strongly believe this man deserves some love. A simple introduction would've sufficed so the audience, who were either too young or too preoccupied with other shows/stuff to know him, could have an idea of the man who was in front of them.

And like I told you, I don't watch the entire show so I don't know if they eventually recognized him or if he's group won. He may be no hero, but the guy is a king, the Buko King. Show some love. -Marlone Viardo

Know thy Target

Serves 'em right.

Known and feared by sailors and considered as the terror of the high seas, the infamous Somali Pirates made a recent blunder by attacking a, guess what – a Dutch warship.

Yeah, you read it right. A WARSHIP.

With the success these pirates had in the past when it comes to hijacking ships traversing the Arabian Sea, it's quite surprising that they don't have any means in determining the identity of their target.

According to Yahoo! News, the crew of the HNLMS Tromp fired warning shots when they saw two small vessels approaching their ship. This thwarted the assault and convinced the suspected Somali Pirates to turn back.

EU Naval Forces personnel eventually caught up with the suspected pirates on another ship where they found ammunition and firearms on board. Authorities destroyed the two small vessels and set the pirates free on the ship where they were found, after it was cleared of weapons.

Quoting Cmdr. John Harbour, this incident shows "a lack of sophistication in the pirate's selection of targets" and that this serves as a warning "that the pirates will try to attack any vessel on the high seas."

What's going through my head right now was what could've been had the crew of the HNLMS Tromp didn't fire warning shots even if they were aware of the approaching vessels. It would've been like an episode of MTV's Punk'd.

Wait! That's a brilliant idea. If the Somali Pirates will attack any and I mean any ship, why not get a passenger liner, put Ashton Kutcher and a TV crew on board, add a group of heavily armed soldiers and some hulking UFC fighters into the mix, have them hide themselves, and once the SPs hop on board, the hidden passengers show up and you got a stick-'em-up-or-we'll-screw-you-badly scenario. And then Kutcher starts laughing and explaining to the SPs what's going on.

Now that's SWEET! With reference to Dude Where's My Car? -Marlone Viardo

[Review]Alice in Wonderland

Before watching this film you should know the following facts: first, this is based from the book, second, this is a sequel and third, IMAX rock!

Many were complaining about the story. "It was not as I remembered" or "Why is Alice not a kid anymore?" that sort of stuff. You should be aware that this is the sequel to the original Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. It was sort of happened 13 years after the original story (it was later revealed in the movie). To me, it was a good twist to the story and I just remembered my childhood memories of the story. The musical score was spectacular (I was watching it on IMAX 3D) and the whole world of wonderland was very gorgeous. My only complain was the 3D wasn't fully utilized (or was I just looking for more eyecandy?) but the whole film was a huge leap from the previous adaptations of the popular story. Relieve your childhood fantasies as you watch this film. Before I forgot, Johnny Depp once again gave a beautiful performance as the Mad Hatter

First week in 3rd BU

As I timed-in on the DTR last Monday I saw the words 3rd BU VS Dept. below my name. I guess it's official that I'm no longer part of the 1st BU, the department that became my family. The first week is a week of adjustment. I no longer drop-off usually at 31st floor. I no longer open the lights and aircon like I usually do. I no longer fiddle with the things of my seatmate before opening my desktop and double checking my time in. It was sad but that's reality...

Today I got the chance to come to the 1st BU office for the soon to be married colleagues had a delicious treat. I got the chance to sit on my previous workstation and joke around with my former project mates. But as the clock stroke 3:30 I had no choice but to return once again to my new office. As painful as it is, I have to accept the reality that I am no longer part of the 1st BU.

Time to move forward. I need to be fair with my new family, the 3rd BU. I should not close my doors to them and I'll try my best to be part of their community.

2. Hindi papatalo sa trash talk.

Asarin niyo na ang lahat wag lang ang 1st BU kung ayaw niyong umiyak

3. Very well coordinated

I left my heart at 1st BU..

thank you guys for the memories....

Yahoo! Sports loses Skeets to The Score

What's there to love about Canada?

Well there's Canadian Bacon, maple and the distinct accent. And for the sports fan in you, there's ice hockey, ice skating, the recent 2010 Winter Olympics, the Toronto Raptors, Steve Nash and J.E. Skeets.

Wait, J.E. who?

To be honest, I know very little about Canada and had very little interest until the South Park kids kept talking about it, and until Vince Carter started dunking in Air Canada Centre. Having a friend who spent some time in Canada also helped.

Ah, but Skeets, now that guy is All-Canadian. He gave me some idea what Canada is all about and influenced my blogging as well.

As a basketball junkie, I had to get my fix from on a daily basis. But after accidentally running into Skeets at Yahoo! Sports, I realized there's life after NBA (game) through Ball Don't Lie.

Unlike the opinions posted by seasoned sportscasters in, which focuses more on the nitty gritty of basketball, Skeets' take on matters, as well as that of other Yahoo! Sports bloggers, are often atoned to the lighter side. They talk about almost anything that has something to do with pro-ballers, related or unrelated to the game.

Skeets is the one who writes and edits entries for BDL. And though his arguments and opinions may not always seem valid, it definitely gives people something to talk about. Just check out a BDL entry and you'll find hundreds of comments and reactions below.

Thanks to his freestyle and loose approach, BDL is always an appealing alternative from all the hardcore, hard court stuff the NBA and offers.

Fortunately, all that writing and podcasting has done some good for Skeets. After earning recognition for his works in BDL and The Basketball Jones, Skeets and co. got some love from The Score, who will now televise TBJ.

This event ends Skeets longtime partnership with Yahoo! Sports, and the end of all those hilarious-sometimes-doesn't-make-sense-albeit-entertaining blogs. This leaves me, and a lot of BDLers out there with nothing. You hear that Skeets. Nothing!

I'm not really much of a TBJ guy because I do most of my surfing at work. And since there are restrictions and a firewall in the office, I seldom watch and instead read entries in BDL. But now that Skeets is gone, it looks like the days of all those fun blogs are over.

Sure, I can always visit The Score (or maybe not thanks to firewalls), and someone as good is bound to take Skeets' place. But I can't deny that Yahoo! Sports won't be the same without the Canadian. And I probably won't ever get used to watching TBJ outside of BDL. Sorry Skeets.

Skeets presence will sorely be missed in the pages of Yahoo! and that's proof that he is among the things you could love about Canada. The best of luck Skeets. Ball don't lie man, ball don't lie. -Marlone Viardo
